What is Swachhta Yojana Andhra Pradesh?
Andhra Pradesh State Government will help adolescent girls studying in government schools and colleges to improve their health and hygiene status. The government is thinking of providing free quality sanitary napkins to these girls. The state government said that 23% of girls in the country stay away from schools and colleges during their periods. To improve their condition, the government is working to improve toilets in all government institutions.

Swachha is an initiative to spread awareness about menstruation among students from class 7th to 12th in government schools and colleges.
Women teachers and women police are expected to create awareness among the students once a month.
Along with creating public awareness, police will also create Disha App and Disha Act.
A lady teacher will serve as the nodal officer.
The government will provide quality sanitary napkins to every young woman, costing around Rs 32 crore.
Each student will receive 120 napkins per year.
Students will also be taught how to dispose of sanitary pads.
Andhra Pradesh government has already provided 6417 incinerators for pad disposal under Clean Andhra Pradesh scheme.
The state considers menstrual hygiene as an important part of women empowerment.
