The Chief Minister of Rajasthan has launched the Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme for pregnant women in the state of Rajasthan. The government has said that under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹ 6000 will be provided to pregnant women in the state of Rajasthan in about 5 phases. At present the government is starting this scheme in some districts and gradually this scheme will be extended to all the districts of Rajasthan.

Every year in Rajasthan, many women get pregnant and give birth to a child, but due to poor economic conditions, they are unable to provide proper nutrition to their baby initially, resulting in malnourished children at an early age. That’s why the government has launched the Indira Gandhi Maternal Nutrition Scheme, so that the money received under this scheme can be used by the mothers for the better upbringing of their children and the money can be used to provide nutritious food to the children, so that the children can stay healthy.

• Around 77000 pregnant women have been included in this scheme initially and a budget of 43 crores has been approved by the government for this scheme.
• Initially, this scheme has been launched by the government in the districts of Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara and Pratapgarh in Rajasthan.
• Under the scheme, a total of ₹ 6000 will be paid by the government directly into their bank account in five different installments.
